From Simple Stairs to Star Feature
2021 Capital Award Grand Winner, Interior Element under $30,000
Originally awkwardly tucked into the left side of the house, these stairs were relocated to the middle of the home to create a center volume. This approach was not only for efficiency and function, but to also create separation of the open living space on the right side and private spaces on the left side of the home. In a nod to the original railings, Blue Star had custom metal railings created and paired with 2-inch thick white oak treads and under lighting for each step.
