Tabor Design Build’s clients were unhappy with their existing kitchen because the space seemed dark and closed off from the rest of the house. A wall blocked the kitchen from the family room where their children played. Their wood cabinets and countertops were dated and needed to be replaced. These homeowners wanted an open floor plan for increased light and entertaining guests, however they did not want to reduce the number of cabinets. The Tabor team accomplished this by eliminating the wall between the kitchen and family room and adding a knee wall and bar to encompass the farmhouse sink, dishwasher, and base cabinetry.
